Ibrahim Chosen as April Student Spotlight Winner   Every month the Office of Student Services with the College of Optometry seeks nomination from the faculty, staff, and students of the college in an effort to recognize one student who exemplifies our student body.  This month's recipient is a true reflection on what we look for in a student at UMSL College of Optometry. UMSL Optometry Students Participate in Dining in the Dark Event

 Dining in the Dark On February 11, 2015 several students along with Adjunct Clinical Professor, Dr. Jennifer Bulmann attended and participated in the 6 th Annual St. Louis Dining in the Dark Visionary Awards Dinner at the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark hotel.   The Foundation Fighting Blindness, a national nonprofit organization focused on sight-saving research presented their Visionary Award to both Dennis Reagan, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Muny, and St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Trevor Rosenthal.    Adjunct Clinical Professor Dr. Jennifer Bulmann with St. Louis Cardinal's Pitcher Trevor Rosenthal The dinner is a distinctive sensory awareness experience in which guests participate in an unforgettable dining adventure to obtain a first-hand insight into the challenges of the blind community. NOSA Talent Show

Biehler and Dubois Win Talent Show The annual St. Louis National Optometric Student Association (NOSA) chapter held the annual talent show on Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Pilot House on the UMSL campus.  This year's talent show featured six acts and two side shows. NOSA President Valerie Arnold ('17) is very proud of the organization and the talent show this year and the involvement NOSA has in other events throughout the year.  "NOSA and the NOA work hard to provide eye care to under-served minority populations as well as to increase the number of minority optometry students," she said.  The chapter here at UMSL is also part of the annual Easter egg hunt for the visually impaired and several other events.
