Ibrahim Chosen as April Student Spotlight Winner Every month the Office of Student Services with the College of Optometry seeks nomination from the faculty, staff, and students of the college in an effort to recognize one student who exemplifies our student body.  This month's recipient is a true reflection on what we look for in a student at UMSL College of Optometry.

The Student Spotlight for April 2015 is:
  Yousef Ibrahim (Class of 2017)
Yousef received several nominations from students, faculty, and staff for this month's recognition.  The comments shared about Yousef are indicative of the impact our students have on fellow students, prospective students and parents,  and the college as a whole. Zahn Chosen as March 2015 Student Spotlight

Every month the Office of Student Services with the College of Optometry seeks nomination from the faculty, staff, and students of the college in an effort to recognize one student who exemplifies our student body.  

The Student Spotlight for March 2015 is:
  Nicholas Zahn (Class of 2017)
Nicholas received several nominations from students and faculty and staff for this month's recognition. In addition, Nick received a very nice email from a prospective student's parent about his customer service and help during a recent tour of the College of Optometry. The comments shared about Nick are indicative of the impact our students have on fellow students, prospective students and parents,  and the college as a whole.

UMSL Optometry Students Participate in Dining in the Dark Event

NOSA Talent Show

Biehler and Dubois Win Talent Show The annual St. Louis National Optometric Student Association (NOSA) chapter held the annual talent show on Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Pilot House on the UMSL campus.  This year's talent show featured six acts and two side shows.

NOSA President Valerie Arnold ('17) is very proud of the organization and the talent show this year and the involvement NOSA has in other events throughout the year.  "NOSA and the NOA work hard to provide eye care to under-served minority populations as well as to increase the number of minority optometry students," she said.  The chapter here at UMSL is also part of the annual Easter egg hunt for the visually impaired and several other events.


Kara Rowden ('17) took the stage first to perform the song "Valentine" by Martina McBride.  She dedicated the song to her daughter.
